Go wild and be creative! This day is not just for horses and Jack Russell Terriers; it’s a chance for you to compete as well!
All patrons are invited to participate in the Southern Views Hat Contest. Only the very best of the bunch will be a winner. Find a hat category that suits you AND SHOW UP or just come and enjoy watching the competition. Judging begins PROMPTLY AT 1:00 p.m., so be sure to get to the Southern Views hat tent in the infield by 12:45 p.m.
CATEGORIES TO BE JUDGED
Most Whimsical:
Less is not necessarily more! This is the category for those who want to
showcase their creativity by donning the most outrageous hat. The more
embellishment the better. Don’t be shy in designing the most whimsical hat at
Steeplechase!
Most Beautiful:
The
tradition of wearing a beautiful hat to Steeplechase is a classic as the race
itself. The prize will be awarded to the lady wearing the most elegant hat.
Best Children’s Hat:
Our
12 & under guests have an opportunity too shine in our Best Children’s Hat
Category. Girls and Boys alike can share in the tradition of hats and
Steeplechasing. Simple or silly – You choose!
The Red Hat Society Category TM:
This category gives all of you Red Hat Society TM Ladies a chance to showcase
your organization by wearing your favorite Red Hat to Steeplechase.
